Jammu, July 2: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Wednesday, while describing Shri AmarnathJi Yatra-2025 (SANJY-2025) as a ìstatement against terrorismî, said that it would strengthen the governmentís resolve to build prosperous J&K and India.

LG Sinha made this remark on his official X handle, while sharing his article he wrote for the prominent national English daily ìIndian Express on the special occasion of flag-off ceremony.

Lieutenant Governor flagged off the first batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra from Yatri Niwas ñ Jammu base camp at Bhagwati Nagar for the holy shrine in Kashmir on Wednesday morning. Yatra will formally commence on July 3 from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.

ìThis yearís Amarnath Yatra is also a statement against terrorism and it will strengthen our resolve to build Viksit J&K and J&K Bharat,î LG Sinha posted, while sharing his article.

Lieutenant Governor, in his article titled as ìA journey of faithî, averred, ìAfter Pahalgam terror attack, Jammu and Kashmirís wounds need the spiritual healing that the annual Amarnath Yatra offers.î

ìÖAround half a million devotees are ready for the spiritual calling  that starts with an arduous journeyÖto reach the holy caveÖ.The people of Jammu and Kashmir hurt by Pakistanís nefarious designs to disturb peace, communal harmony and growing prosperity in the Union Territory by carrying out the April 22 Pahalgam massacre, are eagerly waiting to extend a warm welcome to pilgrims. The government machinery and security apparatus are prepared to ensure it is incident-free and seekers return home immersed in divine bliss,î he wrote.

Describing that the pilgrimage ìhas a special alchemyî for him, he remarked that the ìspiritual odyssey is overwhelming due to the hypnotic spell of divinity.î

ìThis yearís Amarnath Yatra is also a statement against terrorism. The soul of J&K was wounded in PahalgamÖJammu and Kashmir decided to lead the national outrage. Massive protests followed against terrorism. Women stepped out of their homes, ensuring their voices were not lost. The outpouring of emotions, though sudden, was in sync with the Prime Minister Narendra Modiís zero tolerance policy against terrorism after 2019, and the outcome it delivered for the people significantly transforming lives and snatching them out of the hands of terror,î he asserted.

While detailing about the two-pronged strategy against terrorism and the J&Kís development journey, he stated that it was ìpossible because citizens ..became fulcrum of policy initiatives.î

He pointed out that the overall transformation of the region also reflected in the way Amarnath Yatra had been organized since 2022. While delineating initiatives taken for considerable improvement in Yatra, including widening of tracks; RFID based tracking system real-time monitoring and 24X7 surveillance mechanism put in place for pilgrimsí safety, he said that frustrated Pakistan was resorting to terrorism to destabilise J&K.

ìBut we will not let Pakistan and its terror proxies succeed,î LG Sinha wrote, while referring to Operation Sindoor, which he said, ìset a new code against cross border terrorism.î

He asserted that a successful Yatra would ìstrengthen resolve to build Viksit J&K and Viksit Bharat.î

ìJammu and Kashmir is vying for a generational shift and every Indian will have to participate in this Mahayagya. I appeal to the devotees of Lord shiva to join the Amarnath Yatra. Your pilgrimage will spiritually heal J&K wounded by the April 22 terror attack,î he wound up.

The Lieutenant Governor on Tuesday also asserted that every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir was a stakeholder to ensure successful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

ìI appeal to everyone to contribute oneís bit to make it a successful Yatra, following age-old traditions of communal amity and hospitality of Jammu and Kashmir,î he had said, while responding to media queries about the annual pilgrimage, commencing from July 3, 2025.

LG Sinha said that the way pilgrims from across the country reached Jammu with the aspiration to embark on pilgrimage, one could well-gauge the overwhelming response.

ìI want the well-meaning support of the media and every citizen of the J&K, I appeal to everyone to extend cooperation as this is your Yatra as well. It is not a pilgrimage merely for administration and security forces, who, in any way, are responsible for making arrangements for pilgrims to enjoy secure, peaceful and joyous Yatra,î he reiterated.

ìTo commensurate with the traditions of Jammu and Kashmir, known for its communal amity and hospitality, I urge everyone to contribute oneís bit to make it a successful Yatra. I believe that all the pilgrims as part of the convoy will have a remarkable pilgrimage experience,î the Lieutenant Governor had remarked.
