
Jammu, Feb 16: Three juvenile inmates, including two Pakistani nationals, escaped from R S Pura Observation Home in Jammu after assaulting and injuring two on-(guard) duty Police personnel on Monday (February 16) evening.
Police have constituted special teams after taking cognisance of the incident and are conducting raids at several places to apprehend the trio, including a gangster.
“Three inmates namely Karanjeet Singh alias Gugga, son of Arjun Singh, resident of Dablehar, R S Pura and two Pakistani nationals- Ahsan Anwar, son of Mohd Anwar, resident of Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan and Mohd Sanaullah, son of Mohd Zaffer, resident of Basti Jawewala, tehsil Dinpur, district Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Pakistan this evening at about 5.15 pm after attacking and injuring two on duty police men escaped from the Observation Home, R S Pura,” a Police spokesperson said, in an official statement.
“Cognisance of the incident has been taken and investigation has started. Special teams have been constituted and these teams are raiding at various locations to apprehend them,” the spokesperson added.
Police personnel, identified as SPO Vinay Choudhary and Head Constable Praveen Kumar, as per sources, sustained injuries when they tried to intervene among the fighting juveniles lodged in the Observation Home. The trio assaulted the Police personnel and fled from the spot allegedly snatching a motorbike.
The injured Police personnel were later rushed to the medical facility.
Investigation was underway, Police said.
