2 Armymen Reported Missing in South Kashmir Amid Adverse Weather Conditions, Search Op Underway – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: Two armymen have reportedly gone missing in the Gadool area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district since Monday, officials said on Wednesday.

According to reports, the soldiers lost contact with their unit while on duty, following which a massive search and rescue operation was launched in the area.

News agency KNC reported official sources as saying that inclement weather and challenging terrain are believed to have contributed to the incident. “All possible efforts are being made to trace the missing personnel,” they said.

Joint teams of the Army and local authorities are carrying out coordinated operations across the forested and hilly stretches of Gadool to ensure the soldiers’ safe return.

Meanwhile, authorities have appealed to local residents to cooperate with the ongoing search operations and exercise caution while moving through the area.
