12th batch of 7049 pilgrims embarks on Amarnath yatra from Jammu

Jammu, Jul 13: Fresh batch of 7049 pilgrims left Yatri Niwas-Jammu based camp at Bhagwati Nagar for holy shrine of Shri Amarnathji in South Kashmir Himalayas on Sunday.

As per officials, a total of 5459 males, 1423 females, 31 children, 107 Sadhus and 29 Sadhvis as per of 12th batch left in a convoy of 286 vehicles, including 144 buses and 99 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) to undertake Yatra from twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal under layered security.

4158 Yatris, comprising 3328 males, 696 females, 8 children, 98 Sadhus and 28 Sadhvis opted to embark on Yatra from the Pahalgam route. They left Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 4.20 am in a cavalcade of 148 vehicles, including 94 buses and 34 LMVs.

2891 pilgrims, including 2131 males, 727 females, 23 children, 9 Sadhus and 1 Sadhvi chose the Baltal axis to reach the holy shrine. They departed in a cavalcade of 138 vehicles, including 50 buses and 65 LMVs at 3.30 am.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of 5892 pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar base camp on July 2, 2025 morning. Yatra finally commenced on July 3 from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. It will conclude on August 9, 2025.
