1 dead, 3 injured in Kishtwar accident

Ramban , Mar 18: One person lost his life while three others sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision between a tipper and a car in Berwar area on the Kishtwar-Paddar road on Wednesday.

According to officials, an car collided with a tipper (dumper) coming from the opposite direction near Berwar, resulting in injuries to all four occupants of the car.

Soon after the incident, Police personnel along with local volunteers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, one of the injured was declared dead on arrival by doctors.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Ashraf Wani, 66, son of Abdul Ahad of Trankal Kahara, Kishtwar.

The injured have been identified as Muhammad Yaseen, 38, and Nafees Ahmad, 34, both sons of Muhammad Ashraf, and Muhammad Mudasir Hussain, 34, son of Ashiq Elahi, all residents of Trankal, Kahara.

Officials said that two of the critically injured persons were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Doda, for advanced treatment.
